![]() It had 59k on it when I bought it and it now has 79k. Of course that play transfers to a lot more movement by the time it gets to the outside of the tire. There is a play of about 1/8 - 1/4 inch up and down movement in the king pin which I think is too much. I grease the king pins 3 - 4 times a year but I don't know how they were maintained before I got it. Unless it has never been greased the bushings should easily outlive the coach.Ħ-Kyocera 130w solar panels SB3024i MPPT controllerġ987 Suzuki Samurai tintop Toad w/VW 1.6 turbo diesel power and a few (twenty-some, but other than my wife, no one is counting) antique Allis Chalmers tractors ![]() Are you sure king pins is your problem?Ģ021 F-350 Platinum 4X4 PSD SRW 2016 Montana 3950FL (2) Honda EU2000i's Most motorhomes never see that many miles. Gsbuick65 is right,it is NOT a job for a first timer, and beside that you will need either a machine shop press the bushing or have a press available to use, I have beat and heated many a King pin so a torch may come in handy as well,I would think 6 hours should be doable without many problems.I haven't bought any for 10 years now so I don't dare to guess how much they might be. The bushings will probably cost 150-200, its atleast 6 hour job, thats if the king will come out without amy problem, sometimes they get stuck, Ive had to cut one out before. I won't let a motorhome shop do it but I might let a truck repair place do it. This is on a Freightliner chassis and I wonder if I should do it myself or let someone else. ![]() ![]() I'm just looking for a little information on time and costs. How about having someone else replace their king pin bushings? I talked to one guy and he said it should costs $250 or so to get someone else to do both of them. Has anyone replaced their king pin bushings? If so how much time did you spend doing the work? ![]()
